Peach at the Beach is an original story designed to address errors of voicing/devoicing. The story is loaded with minimal pairs (with colorful clipart pictures) for the sounds t/d, p/b, and k/g in multiple positions of words. Read the story to the student for auditory bombardment and to increase awareness of how voicing changes meaning. Have the child point to discriminate between pictures when named (ex: Show me the 'beach,' Where is the 'peach?'), answer questions (ex: "Who went to the beach?") or fill-in-the-blanks during the story as you point to the corresponding pictures (ex: "Ken let Peach gab as she rode in his _____.")
