For the longest time, I've been meaning to print a bunch of milestones resources, sort them by speech-language skill area, and organize them in a binder (#unrealisticgoals). Since that hasn't happened yet (I blame 2020 and the shortage of HP printer ink), I decided to put them all together in one blog post.
Note: the vast majority of these resources were originally compiled in the SLPs for Evidence Based Practice Facebook group by Tatyana Elleseff, group admin, under the Giant Milestones post, which can be found here. Thank you, Tatyana!! I have found myself returning to the group page and searching for the milestones post more times than I can count, so I thought having them all together on one page with downloadable PDFs might be helpful to other SLPs who have been doing that repeat search too.
If there is anything I'm missing that you think should be included, please feel reach to reach out using the contact form at the bottom of my site or DM me on Instagram (@spiffyspeech).

Development of Figurative Language - Excerpt from Figurative Language: Assessment Strategies and Implications for Intervention by Bernstein, D.K., 1987
"The developmental studies of metaphoric comprehension reveal that metaphoric ability is present even in preschoolers and that metaphoric language comprehension increases with age... Perceptual metaphors are comprehended more easily than psychological ones and that predicative metaphors (being cognitively simpler) are more easily understood than proportional ones... Research to date reveals that the literal meaning of idioms is understood before its nonliteral meaning. Furthermore, it appears that idioms are processed as ‘chunks’ and that their comprehension is aided by a variety of linguistic and paralinguistic cues...Comprehension of idioms begins to develop in the early school years and continues to grow through adolescence...Finally, children’s ability to understand idioms seems to depend on four factors: the frequency of their exposure to idioms: the relevance of idioms to children’s experiences; the linguistic context in which idioms are set; and the mode or task used to test idioms...Developmental studies of proverb comprehension seem to indicate that the understanding of proverbs emerges at about age 7 and that the comprehension of proverbs steadily improves through childhood and adolescence. It also appears that proverbs are more difficult to understand than metaphors and idioms...This may be due to the fact that some proverbs contain uncommon syntax. "

I really enjoyed reading this insightful blog by ReVeda on How to Improve Gut Health naturally. The tips shared are practical, easy to follow, and highlight how small lifestyle changes can make a big difference in digestion and overall wellness. I especially liked the focus on balanced nutrition, hydration, and maintaining healthy gut bacteria rather than relying on quick fixes. As someone who values natural health solutions, I found the information both informative and relatable. ReVeda continues to provide useful wellness guidance that people can easily incorporate into their daily routines. For those looking to support their digestive health further, combining these habits with quality supplements such as Gut Health Gummies can be a convenient addition to a healthy lifestyle.…
This was a really thoughtful and engaging post. I liked how the author explained the topic in such a clear and relatable way. Reading content like this encourages readers to think more deeply about their experiences and learning journey. As a student, I often explore resources related to Gibbs Reflective Cycle through New Assignment Help UK to better understand reflective writing and personal development in academic work.
What an incredibly well-organized resource — this is exactly the kind of reference every parent and SLP needs bookmarked! Tracking speech-language milestones can feel overwhelming, but having everything compiled in one place makes it so much more manageable. At ReVeda, we believe that holistic child development goes hand in hand with proper nutrition — just as children need consistent stimulation for cognitive and language growth, their growing brains also need the right micronutrients to thrive. That's why many pediatric experts recommend the Benefits of Multivitamin Tablets as a daily support alongside early intervention strategies — vitamins like B12, D, and zinc play a key role in neurological development and focus. If you're a parent actively monitoring milestones, adding Multivitamin Tablets…
Thank you so much for putting this incredible resource list together; it is a total lifesaver for those of us who constantly find ourselves digging through old group posts or bookmarks to track down developmental norms. Having all these PDF guides and charts in one place makes evidence-based practice so much more accessible and efficient, especially when balancing a heavy caseload and tight deadlines. It truly bridges the gap between clinical requirements and the practical need for quick, reliable references that we can actually use during evaluations or parent consultations. Sometimes, the pressure of keeping up with documentation and assessments can feel overwhelming, and I’ve even relied on same day assignment help to manage my own academic workload while staying…
The way you organized the different speech and language milestones by age range really stood out—it makes it much easier to see how development builds step by step rather than happening all at once. It made me think about how helpful it is for parents and educators to have everything laid out in one place like that, especially when they’re trying to figure out what’s typical and what might need extra attention. I wonder how often these milestones get updated as more research comes in. In a loose way, it even connects to Mechanical Engineering Assignment Helper, where structured breakdowns make complex progressions easier to understand.
